European stocks experienced a downturn on Friday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index finishing down by 0.61% at 448.44.
German and British Markets See Decrease
The German DAX declined by 0.65% to 15,574.26, while the FTSE 100 index also declined by 0.65% to 7,262.43. Similarly, the French CAC 40 index fell by 0.38% to 7,164.11.
Top Decreases Among Stoxx Europe 600 Constituents
Among the constituents of the Stoxx Europe 600 index, retail company Dino Polska S.A. saw the largest decrease on Friday, with shares declining by 8.4%. Retail firm THG PLC and health care/life sciences company GN Store Nord A/S also saw declines of 7.6% and 6.5%, respectively. Additionally, mining & metals company Norsk Hydro ASA and health care/life sciences company Idorsia Ltd. saw their stocks fall by 4.0% and 3.8%, respectively.
Largest Increase Among Stoxx Europe 600 Constituents
Meanwhile, retail company DocMorris N.V. experienced the largest increase among Stoxx Europe 600 constituents, with shares jumping by 11.0% on Friday. Leisure/travel goods firm CD Projekt S.A. and investing/securities company Kinnevik AB Series B also saw increases of 3.1% and 2.8%, respectively.
Top Five Increases
Atos SE, a business/consumer services company, and electric/gas utilities business Elia Group S.A. rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rose by 2.8% and 2.0%, respectively.
Currency and Commodity Updates
The pound was down 0.07% against the dollar, while the euro was up 0.02%. Brent crude added 0.17% and reached $84.26.
Yield Changes
The yield on the 10-year gilt declined by 7.20 basis points to 4.674%, and the yield on the German 10-year bund declined by 8.750 basis points to 2.62%.
