Move over Picasso paintings and Mickey Mantle rookie cards - there's a new hot collectible in town. Target, the popular retail giant, has introduced the "Galentine's Collection" - a range of pink and red cups made by the renowned brand Stanley. These cups, priced from $20 to $45 depending on size, have quickly become sought-after items. In fact, they are now selling for as much as $200 on eBay!
The frenzy surrounding these cups has reached such heights that eager shoppers have been lining up outside Target stores in the early hours, eagerly awaiting their chance to get their hands on one. Videos circulating on social media show the intense rush as customers dash inside when the doors open, trying to secure their own cup. Interestingly, Target has implemented a purchase limit of two cups per customer, as shown in a TikTok video.
While eager buyers are scrambling to find these limited edition cups, Target has confirmed that they are now completely sold out and will not be restocked. However, rest assured that throughout 2024, new and exciting Stanley items will be available at Target.
The success of these Valentine's Day cups not only benefits Target but also Stanley, a well-established brand that has been in operation since 1913. It's important to note that Stanley, now part of the privately held HAVI company, is separate from the Stanley brand known for its tools and owned by Stanley Black & Decker.
Stanley cups have gained significant attention in recent years. With annual sales skyrocketing from $70 million to an impressive $750 million, these cups have become more than just a beverage container. Even celebrities like Adele have expressed their fondness for the brand.
