Volkswagen's Software Company Accelerates Technology Development with New Hire
Volkswagen Group's software company, Cariad, has announced the appointment of Sanjay Lal, a veteran from Rivian and Tesla, in an effort to expedite the development of technology for digitization and electrification. Lal will join Cariad's software-defined vehicle hub in November to lead the development of two vehicles for the German car maker.
Previously, Cariad had faced setbacks in the development of new electric vehicle models, resulting in a change in leadership earlier this year. To overcome these challenges, Volkswagen Group Chief Executive Oliver Blume emphasized the need for speed in order to remain competitive.
